Why are people joining Social Monster?
Our members are joining for various reasons: single, married, new to town, just looking to expand social circle, in town for business during the week, looking for organized events to do with friends, etc. Whatever your reason for joining, you will probably find others who joined for the same reason.

Is Social Monster a dating service?
No, Social Monster is not a dating service. We do asked pointed questions to learn more about who you are and what interests you have. However, we do not try to play matchmaker. Social Monster presents you with unique opportunities to meet people with similar interests.

How is joining Social Monster different than joining groups like Highlife Adventures or Events and Adventures?
The biggest difference is philosophy of the membership process. Social Monster is all about a relaxed experience of joining online whenever it is convenient for you and providing you with the most affordable membership plans available. Where other groups require you to send in an interest form to set up an interview, we do not. Why is Social Monster so affordable?
We do not have the high overhead of big offices and paid salespeople. We are part of the Sports Monster family of organizations and share our overhead so costs are kept down.

What is the average age or age range of Social Monster Members?
Although we require our Social Monster Members to be 21 or older, we do not have age restrictions. However, most of our members range between the ages of 25 and 55. Our median age is about 35 but it really depends on market and specific events.

I see all the event info on the calendar. How about I just show up?
Yikes! You don't want to do that! You might be left out in the cold - literally. We rely on member RSVP's to make reservations and staff events. Plus, there might be a change in time or even venue. We can only accommodate the members who RSVP. You can always contact us for more info on any event you would like to attend.

There are a lot of events on the Social Monster calendar, do they all run?
We certainly hope so! But there is the chance that we have posted a dud that doesn't draw flies or another event captures so much interest, the others around it are hurt for RSVP's. The good news is that Social Monster's policy is that if you sign up for 6 events per month and should 3 be sold out or do not run, we will credit your account for an extra month membership or provide a refund for that month.

How much do most Social Monster events cost?
For events like Dining Club, Book Club or Movie Night, each member pays their own way. You will see expected per person costs listed in each event's Out of Pocket Expenses line. If there is a Pre-Pay event such as a concert or sporting event, you will pay the price as listed in the Pre-Pay line for that event. We do NOT upcharge our events! If we can get group pricing, we pass those savings on to you.

I see membership profiles. Can I do a search to find members?
Yes! You can conduct simple to advanced searches, invite people to be on your Friends list and invite other members to come to events you are attending.
